CHRISTMAS-TIME… MISTLETOE AND WINE… (OR WHINE?)
There’s lots to love about Christmas – but sometimes the enjoyment disappears beneath the stress. So we’ve got a few coaching tips to help you cope…
Greetings card manufacturers promote Christmas as a time of peace and joy for everyone. But for many of us, juggling busy jobs with a life outside of work, the reality can feel a little less ‘Christmas card’ than we might like.
To keep a fun perspective on the festivities, why not coach yourself through the experience*?
We’ve prepared a few questions for you to consider as you contemplate the season….
1) Which three words describe your ideal, pleasurable Christmas?
2) OK, so which three words describe how it normally turns out?
3) If you could change ONE thing about how it normally turns out – what would that be? (i.e. to make your Christmas more enjoyable, or simply ‘better’)
4) OK, so how could you change that one thing? What would need to happen? (or at least, how could you make it a little better?)
5) What’s the greatest gift you’ll be giving yourself this Christmas?
6) How can you make someone else’s Christmas more pleasurable?
7) However Christmas turns out, what can you be grateful for?
So, from everyone here at Starr Coaching, have a peaceful and joyful Christmas. Go forth and enjoy.
* Oh – and please remember, ultimate responsibility for all actions lies with the coachee, or in this case… you. So if it all goes wrong and you end up with holly in an awkward place, please don’t blame us!
