A highly experienced coach and supervisor, Jane has a background in linguistics, communication and the psychology of adult learning. For 20 years, she worked in corporate communications, developing and renewing brand identities for public and private sector clients in the UK and abroad.
Changes in people’s relationship with work, and their expectations of employers mean organisations need to engage, retain and sustain – particularly as millennials and Gen Z arrive into work. In a world where communication is virtual, instant and mainly task focused, coaching conversations enable us to relate in (literally) a more humane way. When manager conversations focus on the person rather than just the issue, they can also support the emotional impact of life in the workplace. For example, alleviating stress, managing emotional state, sustaining resilience, accessing inner resources – alongside the operational side of things.
